Petersberg, Erfurt
Project
In addition to the cathedral and the Severi Church, the Petersberg is another landmark in the center of the Thuringian state capital of Erfurt. The Petersberg Citadel with St. Peter's Church, once the largest Romanesque monastery church in Thuringia, is located on the site of the approximately 231-metre-high hill.
It was partially renovated for BUGA 2021 and a barrier-free panoramic path was created, allowing all visitors to easily reach the plateau and enjoy the garden world and the view of the cathedral square and Erfurt's old town. Around 90 light steles illuminate the surroundings on the Petersberg.
User requirement In addition to the desire for security, dimming the light when necessary plays a central role in the new lighting of the site. In this way, energy can be saved and wildlife protected by avoiding unnecessary light emissions when nobody is present.
Solution A tailor-made intelligent lighting solution was developed to meet the requirements: The versatile modular Lif system luminaire is equipped with top element and D-duct. The motion detector ensures the targeted use of light only when it is needed, efficiently and sustainably.
Intelligent features implemented
Working closely with the customer, our experts developed, planned and implemented the technical solution together with Esave. Our service included the coordination and detailed planning, the development of the solution, as well as the commissioning and configuration of the system - both on-site and remotely.
Individual lighting scenes
Lighting scenes have been set up in all areas based on the respective usage behavior. These tailor-made lighting solutions are based on individual dimming profiles and ensure that only as much light is used as is actually needed - saving resources, being energy-efficient and taking into account the night sky and the protection of wildlife.
Motion-controlled light
Developed for on-demand lighting, motion sensors make it possible to use light only when it is needed, as soon as paths or squares are in use. The use of D-Tekt meets the desire for energy savings, safety and nature conservation in equal measure.
Commissioning
Commissioning is carried out on site using the D-Tekt USB radio module and Sensicity. The D-Tekt motion detectors are commissioned by reading in the installation key and linked to the geodata of the respective luminaire locations. The luminaire groups are then set up and individual dimming profiles are assigned. The run-on times of the motion detectors are also specified and group switching is defined. The dimming profiles are graduated and take into account both usage behavior and the protection of wildlife.
