Renewal of Urban Lighting

Pornichet, France

The French town of Pornichet has embarked on an ambitious urban lighting project, aimed at modernizing and embellishing several strategic areas while enhancing their night-time appeal. This global project was divided into three distinct sections, all integrated into a harmonious vision of urban lighting.

The first part of the project involved the lighting of Square Leopold Hervo. Here, the city chose to install Olivio Gobo, modern spotlights that offer great flexibility thanks to their ability to project light patterns. The lighting in this square, already appreciated for its convivial atmosphere, was redesigned to add an artistic touch by playing with textures and shapes.

The second part of the project focused on lighting the town center, in particular the section linking the town center to Square Leopold Hervo. On this strategic artery, Olivio luminaires were mounted in a spiral pattern on the pole, providing both functional and aesthetic lighting. These luminaires add visual dynamism while respecting the city's architectural harmony.

The final stage of the project involved the lighting of the Océanes, a seaside area. For this part of the project, the city opted for Line columns equipped with gold M3 modules with covers specially designed for this project. These lighting columns provide a soft, warm light, ideal for enhancing seaside promenades. Their modern design blends perfectly with the marine environment, while offering a sustainable lighting solution that respects the local ecosystem.

This comprehensive three-part lighting project has transformed Pornichet's public spaces, enhancing both safety and the town's charm after dark. By opting for these luminaires, Pornichet has demonstrated its commitment to aesthetic and sustainable urban development.

Background

With Line and Olivio, the planners combined two complementary luminaires from the portfolio. While Line, with its integrated optics and extremely minimalist design, creates a calm and clear urban aesthetic, Olivio adds striking accents – thanks to its organic appearance and the ability to incorporate gobo projections for dramatic effect.
