Project
In the Gärten der Welt (Gardens of the World), visitors can take a walk around the world: The park in Berlin's Marzahn district offers a Chinese garden, a Balinese garden, an Italian Renaissance garden and many more; a visit during the cherry blossom season is a special experience.
The freely accessible Kienberg park, directly adjacent to the Gärten der Welt, was designed for the IGA (International Horticultural Exhibition) between 2015 and 2017. From the 110-metre-high Kienberg, which can be reached by cable car, excursionists have a panoramic view of the east of Berlin and the Brandenburg cultural landscape. Around 200 Saturn 3 luminaires with Tritec optics and smart components provide intelligent lighting.
User requirement Due to the natural environment and different usage scenarios, it was important for the customer to be able to adjust the lighting flexibly and individually. In particular, they wanted to be able to avoid unnecessary light emissions by means of light dimming. To ensure safety in the park, the lighting should be able to be switched to 100 percent in critical situations regardless of the set dimming profile.
Solution An intelligent lighting solution was developed that takes into account the needs of the users as well as combining ecological aspects and technological efficiency. The result offers tangible benefits in terms of safety, energy savings and ease of operation - all in harmony with nature and modern technology.
Intelligent features implemented
Working closely with the customer, our experts developed, planned and implemented the technical solution together with Esave. Our service included the coordination and detailed planning, the development of the solution, as well as the commissioning and configuration of the system - both on-site and remotely.
Individual lighting scenes
Lighting scenes have been set up in all areas based on the respective usage behavior. These tailor-made lighting solutions are based on individual dimming profiles and ensure that only as much light is used as is actually needed - saving resources, being energy-efficient and taking into account the night sky and the protection of wildlife.
Emergency lighting function
In an emergency, the lighting can be raised to 100 percent using the light switch function to increase safety. This emergency lighting function is directly connected to the police control center and can be activated there without delay in the event of an emergency - an innovative solution that was nominated for the Berlin Administration Award.
Remote control & monitoring
The integrated energy reporting records the actual power consumption of each light module to the exact kWh. This enables transparent documentation of savings and ensures fair and comprehensible billing, while the Esave Control web application allows the entire system to be conveniently controlled and managed remotely. Supported by the Smart Lighting Configurator software and a USB radio stick, all relevant data can be recorded, evaluated and optimized centrally.
Energy reporting
The integrated energy reporting records the actual power consumption of each light module to the exact kWh. This enables transparent documentation of savings and ensures fair and comprehensible billing.
