How light can cont­ri­bute

The topic of safety in cities is a comp­lex one and is often the sub­ject of pas­si­onate debate. Need­less to say, safety is essen­tial for well-being. On the other hand, a feeling of safety and objec­tive danger in public spaces are often miles apart. More ligh­ting can inc­re­ase the feeling of safety but it does not auto­ma­ti­cally have an effect on actual safety. Holis­tic design app­ro­ac­hes are requ­ired for urban spaces here, which also inc­lude ligh­ting plan­ning. For a dyna­mic city, healthy social rela­ti­ons and a strong iden­ti­fi­ca­tion factor is the best means of ensu­ring the safety of citi­zens.
