Each day, some 25,000 trav­ellers and 500 trains pass through Antwerp Cen­tral Sta­tion, one of the finest rail­way sta­tions in the world. It is known to locals as the Rail­way Cathe­dral”, mainly on account of its impos­ing dome. Opened in 1905, the sta­tion has been exten­sively redesigned over the past few years so that the sta­tion now oper­ates on three levels, includ­ing an under­ground sec­tion.

As part of the ren­o­va­tion mea­sures, its stone sta­tion build­ing has been fitted with an elab­o­rate light­ing system. In keep­ing with the building’s eclec­tic style, the impos­ing sta­tion build­ing is now adorned with Olivio accent light­ing. With their 14-metre high poles and min­i­mal­ist shape, the lights ensure a mas­ter­ful look by day yet with­out dom­i­nat­ing the sur­round­ings.
