The town square Graf-de-Chardonnet Platz” in Kelsterbach near Frankfurt am Main was created to act as the focal point of a new residential and industrial concept. Its design acts as a reminder of the site’s history. The Enka pavilion, rotating info boards and a pagoda spanned with ropes call to mind the artificial silk production which formerly took place at the premises of Enka GmbH here.

Premium-quality bench fittings and Japanese pagoda trees lend the square a new resplendence that entices passers-by to linger for a while. Illumination and lighting design are catered for by 6 — 8 m Cosy light poles by Selux, a modular family of luminaires that combines the cosy design of a free-standing luminaire with state-of-the-art lighting technology and a high degree of flexibility.

The Cosy is conceived so that its luminaire modules can be positioned as required, individually or in multiple rows. Various pole heights and light distributions allow professional needs-based illumination of squares like this one in Kelsterbach, as well as of facades, statues and the efficient lighting of roads and footpaths.
A special feature of the Cosy is its satin-finish or partially satin-finish light diffuser made from vandalism-proof PMMA. This encloses the lighting technology elements, forming a single luminaire form along with the pole. Transparent subsections also enable directed light cones that emanate from the inside of the diffuser.

At nighttime, an interesting light show take place around the illuminated diffuser while, by day, the Cosy helps to shape the surrounding environment, communicating a sense of urbanity and cosiness.

The luminaire has in the meantime also been installed in Ochtrup town centre in North-Rhine Westphalia. By adding some extra lights and a projector, it could even by incorporated into the town’s Christmas lights concept.

  • The distinctive Olivio family is a modern, striking, multifunctional urban lighting system, available in three different sizes with interchangeable reflectors for street and accent lighting applications. This flexible lighting system can be equipped with optical accessories such as honeycomb and ring louvres, coloured and elongation lenses offering further effects and control. Olivio Sistema, Candelabra and Floracion poles and brackets provide total freedom of design and flexible planning.
