Founded in 1900, White & Case LLP is a leading international law firm with offices in the United States, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. When it came to upgrading important interior spaces of its Miami office, design director Lynn Osborne wanted to capture the heightened presence and power of the individuals and the matters at hand. For that, she selected and custom designed fixture configurations manufactured by Selux.

Staggered lamp versions of Selux's M100 Super Recessed fixtures were equipped with both parabolic louvers and satine lens to work with the interior architecture. These were used in the company’s café bar and lounge and in several dominant conference rooms where the presence of ambient light and crisp design were key aesthetic criteria. By specifying staggered lamps with the 6" depth extrusion, continuous and uniform light was achieved, even throughout the corners of the rectangular configurations. Some sections were fitted with MR16 downlights to integrate with other accent and task lighting selections that were brought into the spaces for aesthetics, interest and function.

According to Osborne, the M100 units perform flawlessly in this application. “The location of the project and the building architecture called for the attention to light quality and perceived light quality,” she observes. “In this case, the installation of the product is stellar. The light quality within the space is truly something you have to feel – it’s one of those situations where photography does not adequately tell the story. The lighting works beautifully in the space and is extremely conducive to an environment that enhances the client’s business process.”
