Insitute brightens Boston waterfront
After 70 years on Boston's historic waterfront, the Institute of Contemporary Art recently unveiled its new building, a beacon of cutting-edge design housing some of today's most gifted artists. The re-design of the building included a new lighted exterior facade, remodeled lobbies, and new galleries; all with the public in mind. The design weaves together interior and exterior space, producing shifting perspectives of the waterfront throughout the museum's galleries and public spaces.
Overseen by New York-based Arup lighting, the building's lighting scheme takes a systematic approach in order to address the diversity of spaces. Selux M-Series fixtures were used in both the interior and exterior areas of the museum. Staggered into lobby ceilings and used for seemless runs across gallery cielings, The M100 Recessed fixtures were chosen for their versatility, adaptability, and brilliant, seemless lighting.
M100 offers limitless opportunities in recessed, semi-recessed as well as suspended and surface mounted extrusions. The M100 system encourages a harmonious solution to any project challenge.
