Interstate gets unique lighting experience
The North Ninth Gateway is one of two new city entryway projects. It is located at the intersection of North Ninth Street and Interstate 70. The Gateway is part of a larger entryway project that gives access to the town, yet keeps in continuity with the nearby greenways, bicycle paths, and trails.
The eye-catching angled pole design not only stands out as a graphic, sculptural symbol visible for some distance, but it also highlights the small creek that crosses the interstate which is often overlooked due to all the trucks, stops, and motels along the interstate. The project features custom angled Selux Corral Columns, painted custom red, installed at crisscrossing 65 degree angles to create a unique, engaging form that activates the median with uniform lighting.
The Corral Columns were chosen for their sleek design, durability, customization, and their ability to integrate architectural forms and landscapes.
