Selux in heart of paradise

Hope Chapel, located on the scenic island of Hawaii, has over 1,600 members who visit each week. In the state that depends on fossil fuels more than any other in the nation, the chapel's remote location and desire for alternative off-grid energy led to them to Selux solar lighting systems for its parking lots and walkways.

The Selux Sonne fixture was chosen for its architectural design, efficient T6 MH lamping, reduced energy costs, and ease of install and use. The IDA-Certified "Dark Sky Friendly" fixture also helps to preserve the beautiful night sky over hawaii with Full-Cutoff optics that provide 0% uplight and greatly reduce light pollution.

Selux spent several years in research and development to achieve the aesthetic design and maintenance-free functionality of Sonne, our first totally solar powered luminaire. Equipped with one of a variety of different size solar panels, sealed-gel batteries, and a fixture head fitted with 32W compact fluorescent lamps, Sonne is environmentally friendly and can be installed easily.
